Early Rasulullah's war campaign.

Abu Salamah 'Abdullah ibn 'Abdul Asad رضي الله عنه participated in several early Islamic wars, especially the Battle of Uhud. As a result of the loss of the Muslim army in the war, Abu Salamah 'Abdullah ibn 'Abdul Asad رضي الله عنه was also affected when he suffered severe injuries.

Abu Salamah 'Abdullah ibn 'Abdul Asad رضي الله عنه also participated in the Qatan Expedition. This mission was directed by Rasulullah to attack the Bani Asad bin Khuzaymah tribe after receiving information that they were planning to attack Madinah. 3 people were arrested by Muslim soldiers during the expedition.

Abu Salamah 'Abdullah ibn 'Abdul Asad رضي الله عنه died as a result of a large wound he received during the Battle of Uhud that had opened while leading the Qatan Expedition. After his death, Rasulullah married his widow.

It was there that their first child Salamah was born. After some time in Abyssinia, they returned to Makkah.

When the order came to migrate to Madinah, Abu Salamah 'Abdullah ibn 'Abdul Asad رضي الله عنه and his wife, Umm Salamahرضي الله عنه, fulfilled this order. But Bani Mughirah, was not willing if one of his people went to Madinah, so they seized Umm Salamahرضي الله عنه. Not only that, Abu Salamah's relatives from Banu Abdul Asad apparently did not want Umm Salamahرضي الله عنه as part of his tribe to be in Banu Mughirah, so they took her from Umm Salamah. After succeeding, it turned out that they did not allow Salamah to follow her father to migrate to Madinah.

Although Abu Salamah 'Abdullah ibn 'Abdul Asad رضي الله عنه love is so great for his wife and children, the orders of God and Rasulullahﷺ are above all. Abu Salamah 'Abdullah ibn 'Abdul Asad رضي الله عنه continued to migrate to Madinah without the people he loved. After about a year of separation, Umm Salamahرضي الله عنه was allowed to follow her husband to Madinah. Umm, Salamahرضي الله عنه was given to Bani Abdul Asad to Umm, Salamahرضي الله عنه to be taken to Madinah.

Abu Salamah 'Abdullah ibn 'Abdul Asad رضي الله عنه participated in the battle of Badr and Uhud. In the battle of Uhud, he suffered a severe wound, which resulted in him suffering for a long time. When the wound was not fully healed, Rasulullahﷺ appointed himself to lead a small force of 150 companions, to attack Bani Asad bin Khuzaimah.

Bani Asad gathered forces in secret to attack Madinah, which was coordinated by two brothers, Talhah, and Salamah bin Khuwailid.

The team led by Umm, Salamahرضي الله عنه succeeded in paralyzing Bani Asad. This event happened in the month of Muharram in the year 4 Hijri. But as a result of this battle, his wounds in the battle of Uhud which had not fully healed, relapsed, even worse, until finally he was martyred in the month of Jumadil Akhir in the year 4 Hijri.

From his marriage to Umm Salamah, he had four children. Besides Salamah, the other children are Umar, Durah, and Zainab. Zainab was still in the womb when Abu Salamah died.

When she was still alive, Umm Salamah once wanted them to promise each other not to marry again, if one of them died first. But Abu Salamah 'Abdullah ibn 'Abdul Asad رضي الله عنه  wanted Umm Salamah to obey him as her husband, and he said, "If I die first, you marry."

After that Abu Salamah 'Abdullah ibn 'Abdul Asad رضي الله عنه prayed, "Oh God when I die later, marry Umm Salamah to a better man than me, who will not make her heart sad, who will not give her trouble."

God granted Abu Salamah's prayer, and after his death, it turned out that Rasulullahﷺ agreed to marry Umm Salamah.
