Story one (1)
'Umar RA once said to Nabi SAW : "O
Nabi of Allah, you are dearer to me than anybody else in the world
except my ownself."
Nabi SAW replied: "Nobody can be a
perfect Mu’min until I am dearer to him than even his own
self."Umar RA then said: "Now you are dearer to me than my
ownself."
Nabi SAW replied: "Now, O’
Umar."
The 'Ulama have given two meanings to
the last words of Nabi SAW namely:
(b) "Why is it that it is only now
that I am dearer to you than your own self? This should have been so
long ago."
Suhail Tastari (Rahmatullah alaih)
says: "No one can have enjoyment of the Sunnat until he takes
Nabi SAW as his Master and considers himself as Nabi's SAW slave."
