Maisarah bin Masruq al Habsyi ra
The story of the companion of
Rasulullah ﷺ: Maisarah bin Masruq al
Habsyi ra
Maisarah bin Masruq al Habsyi ra was
just an ordinary person in Bani al Habsyi who was performing Hajj. While
camping at Jamratul Ula near Khaif Mosque, this tribe was visited by Rasulullah
ﷺ who was riding with Zaid bin
Haritsah r.a. He explained the Risalah he brought and called to convert to
Islam, at that time Maisarah bin Masruq al Habsyi ra said to his people
present, "I swear in the name of Allah, if we allow this man and invite
him to the middle of our place of residence, which is a good opinion. And I
swear in the name of God that his religion will win to every corner. "
But his people did not respond to
his opinion. Seeing the attitude and response of Maisarah bin Masruq al Habsyi
ra, Rasulullah ﷺ specifically invited him to
embrace Islam, but because he felt alone and worried about being hated by his
people, he could not accept the invitation of Rasulullah ﷺ, although he still praised and acknowledged the truth of the
teachings he conveyed.
Returning to his people from the
pilgrimage, Maisarah bin Masruq al Habsyi ra invited some people to meet a
Jewish priest in Fadak to find out more about the promised Rasulullah ﷺ. The Jewish pastor opened a large book; he was looking for
the problem. After finding the page he was referring to, the Reverend read it,
"An ummi (illiterate) prophet, an Arab, used to ride a camel, felt enough
with rough food (hard bread), his body was neither low nor high, his hair was
not straight nor too curly, in both eyes there is a reddish-white color. If he
calls you, accept his call, and enter his religion. ”
The Jewish pastor then said, "We Jews are jealous of him that is
why we do not follow him, indeed because he is the place where we will be hit
by a great disaster. The Arabs will be divided into two, who follow it or fight
it, so be the people who follow it. "
Maisarah bin Masruq al Habsyi ra
became stronger with the opinion he chose, and they agreed to meet Rasulullah ﷺ in the next hajj season. But when it reached among his
people, this agreement was ratified by the elders of the tribe of al Habsyi,
they rejected and strongly opposed the agreement taken by the group Maisarah
bin Masruq al Habsyi ra who met the Jewish Priest.
A few years passed. Maisarah bin
Masruq al Habsyi ra met Rasulullah ﷺ during
Haji Wada ', he said, "O Rasulullah, I have been hoping to follow your
invitation since the first meeting, but Allah wants my delay in converting to
Islam. In fact, most of the people who were with me before have died. “Rasulullah
ﷺ explained that those who died
outside of Islam had their place in hell, and Maisarah bin Masruq al Habsyi ra
was grateful for his Islam before he died. He continued to improve his Islam
and had a good position by (Khalifah) Sayidina Abu Bakr As Siddique RA.
Story 1
Maisarah bin Masruq al Habsyi ra is
one of the nine messengers of Bani Habsyi who came to Rasulullah ﷺ. When Rasulullah ﷺ performed
Hajj Wada ', Maisarah bin Masruq al Habsyi ra met him, then he asked, "O
Rasulullah, I really want to be your follower." Then he converted to Islam
and his Islam was very good. Maisarah bin Masruq al Habsyi ra said,
"Praise be to Allah who has saved me from hell because of you
(Muhammad)." Maisarah bin Masruq al Habsyi ra was given a good position by
Abu Bakar.
(Narrated by Ibn Atsir in Usud al-Ghabah)
Maisarah bin Masruq al Habsyi R.A.
including one of the army leaders in Palestine and he died there and was buried
near the Baqah area including the Nablus region. His tomb is famous as a place
of pilgrimage.
Yusuf al-Nabhani narrated, "I
visited the tomb of Maisarah bin Masruq al Habsyi r.a. about twenty years ago.
I did not know the location of the tomb, but as I passed a road next to the
tomb, I saw people flocking to it. At that time it was the day of Arafah in
1305 H. Then I asked a resident of the area who was by my side. The people told
me that the day of Arafah was a special day to visit the tomb of Maisarah bin
Masruq al Habsyi ra, because many residents of the surrounding areas came to
make a pilgrimage at that time. An old tradition that goes on every year
without interruption. They also make a pilgrimage on the last day of Ramadan.
That same year, I went to Beirut
for a state government job that required me to stay there until now. About
three years after living in Beirut, in 1308 H., I fell ill, which was condemned
by all doctors as a vicious disease of weak digestive nerves. The disease is
very distressing to me. When I was desperate to recover, in a dream I heard
someone tell me to visit Maisarah bin Masruq al Habsyi ra 's tomb. I know what Maisarah
bin Masruq al Habsyi ra means, and by visiting it I will get the cure for my
disease. When I woke up, I had the strong intention to visit him. After passing
through his tomb three years ago, I have forgotten the existence of Maisarah
bin Masruq al Habsyi ra before the dream came true. Therefore, I believe the
dream is true.
I established myself to visit him
on the day of Arafah 1308 H. I decided to spend the night in the area near his
tomb called Wadi ‘Arah, in the house of ‘Abdul Karim Affandi bin Muhammad
Husain Abdul Hadi. He has great respect for me as his guest and treats me very
well.
At night, I feel better again than
before, even though for months I took various medicines and followed the advice
of some famous doctors. The next morning, I left for a pilgrimage. I arrived at
his grave during the day when many people were visiting there. At his tomb, I
read short surahs and the book of Dalail al-Khairat. Then I returned home full
of gratitude and praise to Allah. Slowly I recovered until my illness
completely disappeared. Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. ”
